The Survey Association Technician Training Course "An Introduction to Surveying" is run at The Survey Centre in Worcester and has just seen its fifth Graduation.

Over 40 students began the Introduction to Surveying Courses 11, 12, 13 & 14 in September 2005. On the recent completion of this two year course they gathered at The Survey Centre in Worcester to receive their certificates and were joined by their managers and many key figures from the geomatics industry.

Such is the interest in this course that a further 36 students will commence in September, October and December 2007 and yet more students will commence in February 2008.

Awards were presented in recognition of the "Best Student" and "Best Assignment" from courses 11, 12, 13 and 14.

Richard Otto, Chairman of the TSA Technical Committee, presented The Survey Association plaque and cheque to the winner of the "Best Student" Award, Tony Andrews from Suffolk County Council (above left) and Lawrence Dixon from Leica Geosystems presented the Leica Geosystems Shield and cheque to the "Best Student" (above right).

Ed Danson, the President of the Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES), presented the ICES Shield and cheque to the recipient of the "Best Assignment" Award, Lee Wakelin of Adien Limited (above).

Since the inception of this course, Leica, Trimble, PV Publications and, of course, The Survey Association have offered sponsorship of the course and we gratefully acknowledge their involvement.
